Polman Negeri Babel Strengthens Lecturer Competence Through Teaching Factory Workshops (TEFA)
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel), through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), once again held an activity to strengthen the quality of learning. This time, the activity took the form of a Teaching Factory-Based Learning Improvement Workshop (TEFA), held on Saturday (October 25, 2025) at the Novila Hotel, Sungailiat.
This workshop is part of the campus's efforts to align the learning process with current industry needs. Teaching Factory, or TEFA, is a learning model that combines education and production concepts, allowing students to learn and practice directly with industry standards.

The event was attended by lecturers from Polman Babel's three main departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Industry, and Informatics and Business. Each department is expected to develop real-life project-based learning strategies tailored to the characteristics of their respective fields.
As a resource person, Nunung Martina, S.T., M.Si., provided a compelling presentation on the implementation and strengthening of Teaching Factory in vocational education. She emphasized the importance of cross-departmental collaboration to deliver learning innovations that directly impact student competency.

In her presentation, Nunung also appreciated the enthusiasm and assessed that the Department of Agricultural Industry at Polman Babel presented a new, unique and different approach from previous ones.
"There are new things and a fresh learning system from the Department of Agriculture, which demonstrates the lecturers' adaptive spirit in developing TEFA," she said.
In addition to the presentation of the material, the event also featured a lively discussion session between participants and the speakers. Various questions, suggestions, and field experiences were shared to broaden perspectives on implementing TEFA on campus.
Eko Sulistyo, Deputy Director III of Polman Babel, who also attended the event, expressed his appreciation for the lecturers' enthusiasm and the speakers' contributions. He stated that workshops like this provide an important platform for mutual learning and finding solutions to today's vocational learning challenges.
"We received a lot of input from this activity, both from questions and participant responses. Thank you to the speakers who provided in-depth explanations and opened new insights for all of us," he said.
Eko added that implementing a Teaching Factory requires not only infrastructure readiness but also an innovative mindset from the entire academic community. "Therefore, the results of this workshop are expected to serve as a basis for improving the quality of teaching at Polman Babel," he concluded.
