Polman Babel Students Win Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals at the 2025 OSPI, Competing in National Competition
The spirit of young achievement has once again emerged from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel). Students in the Applied Precision Agriculture Undergraduate Program have captured the spotlight at the 2025 Indonesian Youth Science Olympiad (OSPI), winning gold, silver, and bronze medals in various competitions held from October 26–28, 2025, by the National Science Championship Center (PUSKANAS) under the auspices of the Berlian Hati Mulia Foundation.
The OSPI is a prestigious competition attended by hundreds of students from various universities across Indonesia. The competition tests participants' abilities in various science fields, including mathematics, biology, physics, history, and Indonesian and English.
In the competition, Polman Babel students successfully brought home several medals. Nita Anggi Felisha won a gold medal in Indonesian, while Fathir Rahman and Viyola each earned silver medals in Mathematics. Viyola also earned additional awards in Biology and Physics.
Polman Babel's achievements were further enhanced by the bronze medals won by Ahmad Syafitri and Atiatul Sabooh, GP., in History, and another bronze medal won by Viyola in English. These results demonstrate the excellence of Polman Babel students across various disciplines.
When met on Wednesday (October 29, 2025), Mahmudin, M.Sc., one of the supervisors of the Precision Agriculture Study Program, expressed his pride in the students' achievements. He stated that the PUSKANAS activities are a very positive means of fostering the potential and creativity of the younger generation in the field of science, and that this competition provides a platform for participants to hone their critical, analytical, and innovative thinking skills in a healthy, competitive atmosphere.
Furthermore, Mahmudin explained that the success of Polman Babel students in this national competition is inseparable from their enthusiasm for learning, the guidance of their lecturers, and the support of the campus environment, which continues to encourage students to excel in various fields.
"This achievement can motivate other students to continue honing their skills and dare to compete at the national and international levels," he emphasized.
At the same time, Nita Anggi Felisha, a Polman Babel student who won a gold medal in the Indonesian Language Competition (OSPI), expressed her gratitude and pride in winning the gold medal at this event, which provided valuable experience and a challenge to continue learning and striving for greater success.
"More than that, this victory is not the end, but the beginning of a journey of continued growth, inspiring other Polman Babel students to dream boldly and strive to achieve their goals.
The key lies in a passion for learning, consistency, and prayer," he concluded.
