The Polman Negeri Babel Internship Commission Involves Students' Parents in Discussing Internship and Intact Base Scholarship Socialization
To prepare Applied Bachelor's students for their Field Work Internships (PKL) at various industrial companies, private institutions, and government agencies, the Internship Commission of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) held a Socialization event for the Intact Base Scholarship Program at the Polman Babel Hall on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The event was attended by 171 students, accompanied by their parents, from various Applied Bachelor's programs. Speakers included Harwadi, S.S.T., M.Ed., Head of the Academic Support Unit for Career Development and Entrepreneurship, and Ir. Dedy Ramdhani Harahap, S.S.T., M.Sc. (Eng.) from the Intact Base management.

In his remarks, Harwadi explained the importance of having parents participate in this socialization event so they understand the process and challenges their children will face during their internship. "This time, we want to involve parents so they understand the internship process and can support their children," he said.
Furthermore, there are a number of obstacles often faced by students interning outside the region, particularly in terms of mental readiness, financial resources, and a strong determination to complete the internship.
"Students must be disciplined, that's the main thing. Follow the regulations of the company they're applying to, and parents also need to play an active role in social supervision during their child's internship," he added.
Furthermore, Harwadi, M.Ed., stated that all students can successfully complete their internships and graduate on time, ensuring a smooth process, ultimately graduating on time and being ready to enter the workforce," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Ir. Dedy Ramdhani Harahap, M.Sc., (Eng) explained the Intact Base scholarship program, which provides opportunities for students to continue their studies abroad. "This program offers almost all the components needed to study abroad and aims to open up opportunities for Polman Babel students to dare to explore themselves abroad," he said.
Through this program, opportunities to continue their studies abroad are wide open, including being ready to depart in February 2026 for Taiwan.
"Studying abroad isn't actually difficult; the difficult part is finding the desire and readiness," he explained.

The socialization activity also included an interactive question-and-answer session between the students' parents and the speakers. Various questions arose regarding financial preparedness, job opportunities after internships, and the requirements for the Intact Base scholarship program.
The discussion was lively, with parents actively providing input and expressing their hopes that their children would have a rewarding internship experience and broader opportunities for further study.

The event concluded with a group photo session of students, parents, speakers, Intact Base administrators, and representatives of the Polman Babel Internship Commission, demonstrating their commitment to the success of the internship preparation and Intact Base scholarship program.
