Following the Inauguration of the BBIS Campus, Polman Negeri Babel and the Bangka Belitung Marine and Fisheries Agency Agree on Cooperation to Develop the Fisheries Sector
Following the inauguration of the Central Fish Seed Center (BBIS) campus facility for the Applied Bachelor’s Study Program in Aquaculture Technology at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel), a cooperation agreement was established with the Bangka Belitung Islands Province Marine and Fisheries Agency (DKP) on Wednesday (October 14, 2026).
The signing of the cooperation agreement was witnessed by the Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Dr. (HC) Hidayat Arsani, S.E. The agreement was signed by the Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province Marine and Fisheries Agency (DKP), Yopi Wijaya—acting on behalf of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government under a special power of attorney from the Governor—and the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, Ph.D.
Polman Babel Director I Made Andik Setiawan explained that the five-year partnership must focus on aligning the curriculum of the Applied Bachelor’s Study Program in Aquaculture Technology with the needs of the aquaculture industry in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
"The scope of this cooperation encompasses the development and review of an industry-based curriculum, faculty exchange, joint scientific research, and the synchronization of graduate competencies to meet industry requirements," he elaborated.
He further noted that the partnership opens opportunities for faculty members of the Aquaculture Technology Study Program to engage in education, research, and community service activities through collaboration with the Bangka Belitung Islands Province DKP.
“Exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge is crucial for intellectually empowering the nation's youth and developing the local region,” he stated.
Furthermore, I Made expressed hope for continued support from the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government so that the various programs planned through this collaboration can be realized and yield benefits for both parties.
“Therefore, the signing of this Cooperation Agreement is not merely an administrative formality; rather, it aims to realize a shared vision and mission of developing vocational education, strengthening institutions, and enhancing the quality of human resources in the aquaculture sector,” he emphasized.
