Fostering Creativity in the Digital Era: State Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung Lecturer Equips SMK Yapensu Students with AI and Shopee Affiliate Skills

To unlock creative opportunities in the digital era, lecturers from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic—Ahmat Josi, M.Kom., and Lamia Eva Rini, MBA—visited SMK Yapensu Sungailiat on Friday (September 25, 2026). They served as guest speakers, sharing knowledge on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to create promotional videos and develop Shopee Affiliate activities.
Sixty students from grades X and XI gathered in the classroom to listen to the speakers discuss the creative and productive use of digital technology.
Speaking on the matter, Ahmat Josi explained that students can now leverage AI technology to create promotional videos more quickly and creatively. He noted that AI assists with various stages of content production—ranging from brainstorming ideas, drafting scripts, and generating images and videos to creating voiceovers and handling the editing process.
Beyond offering convenience and advantages such as time savings and streamlined editing, the use of AI also presents challenges; outputs may not always align with specific needs, there is a possibility of misinformation, and risks regarding dependency and copyright issues can arise.
"It must be understood that AI serves as a tool rather than a substitute for creativity. Students still need to generate their own ideas, verify AI-generated results, and remain mindful of ethics and copyright in every piece of content they create," he added.
In fact, when used wisely, AI serves not merely as a supporting technology but as a means to enhance creativity and the digital skills essential in this era of technological advancement," she stated.
"Alongside AI adoption, Lamia Eva Rini, MBA, introduced opportunities to earn income through the Shopee Affiliate program, encouraging students—as technology users and digital consumers—to leverage the platform for creating content and generating economic opportunities," she noted.
The session went beyond theory; students were introduced to the process of joining the Shopee Affiliate program and creating AI-generated content for promotional purposes.
"We teach students to create videos using AI and produce affiliate content with minimal capital, without needing to physically stock the products themselves," she emphasized.
Armed with this practical knowledge, students are encouraged to create content and unlock income-generating opportunities while still in school," she concluded.
