Age Is No Barrier SDIT Pelita Alam Semesta Students Visit Polman Negeri Babel
An eagerness to learn about higher education from an early age was evident during a visit by 32 students from SDIT Pelita Alam Semesta to the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) campus on Thursday (October 8, 2026). The event, held in the presentation room, was attended by students from grades 1, 2, and 3, accompanied by their teachers.
Despite still being in primary school, the students showed great enthusiasm to get a closer look at the campus atmosphere and the various facilities at Polman Babel; the visit aimed to familiarize them with the higher education environment and foster an early interest in pursuing further education.
Somawardi, M.T., Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Division at Polman Babel, remarked, "Even though they are primary school students and the visit was essentially a tour to get to know the campus, their enthusiasm was remarkable, driven by a genuine desire to see Polman Babel firsthand."

Undoubtedly, the experience of visiting a campus at a young age can leave a lasting impression on students; the hope is that by the time they reach the age to pursue higher education, they will already have an idea of what university life is like.
"Although it started as a simple tour, the students had the intention to visit the campus; this allows the campus atmosphere to be imprinted in their minds from an early age, so that when the time comes for university, they already have a mental picture and can make informed choices," he explained.
Somawardi expressed his gratitude for the visit to the Polman Babel campus, particularly acknowledging the accompanying teachers who were highly responsive in guiding the students and providing them with the opportunity to get to know the campus at an early age.
The event became even more engaging when the students were given the chance to interact with the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (BAAK) team; they actively answered various questions and even posed their own inquiries about the campus.
"Active students received prizes that served as both encouragement and a memento, ensuring they would always remember their visit to Polman Babel," he noted.

Meanwhile, Opa Risky, the Deputy Principal for Curriculum at SDIT Pelita Alam Semesta, explained that the visit to Polman Babel had been planned well in advance, driven by the students' strong desire to experience the campus atmosphere firsthand—following a previous visit to the Bangka Regency Government's Fire Department.
"He mentioned that the students were particularly curious to see the robots and machinery at the Polman Babel campus; they were taken on a tour that included the mechanical workshop, the electronics (Elka) building, the library, and the Mini Bank Lab," he said.

During the campus tour, they were especially impressed by their visit to the Mini Bank Lab; the lab's design captured their interest, and some even expressed a desire to return," he revealed.
"Before leaving the Polman Babel campus, Opa Risky expressed his gratitude for the opportunity for SDIT Pelita Alam Semesta students to visit; even though they are young, this visit allowed them to get to know the campus better," he stated.
